Online Therapy in Ohio

If you are looking for online therapy in Ohio, you have come to the right place. I offer online therapy to people from all over the state. This includes Akron, Toledo, Dayton, and Cincinnati. As an online therapist, I offer a variety of services. These include counseling for grief, anger management, anxiety treatment, and depression treatment. I also offer in-person counseling at our office in Hamilton, Ohio. It is about 15-20 minutes from Cincinnati. If you’re interested in learning more about our services or scheduling an appointment, please contact me today.
Benefits of Online Therapy
The biggest benefit of online therapy may be convenience. You can see your online therapist from the comfort of your own home. Or, anywhere else that you have an internet connection. Online therapy also takes less time than in-person counseling. You don’t have to travel to and from your appointments.
Another benefit of online therapy is that your therapist can see you in your natural environment. This can give your online therapist valuable insights into what triggers your stressors. Additionally, they can see the environment where you are coping with those stressors on a day-to-day basis. Furthermore, online therapy allows you to get support in the place where you often feel the most stressed.
Lastly, a big advantage of online therapy is that you can see a specialist who isn’t available in your area. It may be easy for someone in Columbus to find any type of mental health specialist they’d like. But, if you’re living in Meigs County, Holmes County, or Hardin County it might be more difficult to find a great counselor. Especially one you don’t know and who specializes in something you’re struggling with.
I am a mental health professional who specializes in bereavement/grief counseling as well as anger management, anxiety, and depression. As a result, it’s not uncommon for my online therapy clients to call from various areas of the state. If you live further away, you may rarely (if ever) decide to make it to my actual counseling office near Cincinnati, OH. But, we can still do very meaningful work together and help you make significant changes in your life.
Online Therapy in Ohio is as Effective as In-Person Counseling
One of the most common concerns people have about online therapy is if it works or not. You may be asking, “Is online counseling as effective as in-person counseling?” The answer to this question is a resounding YES! In fact, many studies have shown that online counseling is as effective as in-person counseling, if not more so in some cases.
So, if you are looking for online therapy in Ohio but don’t live anywhere near Cincinnati, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I would be more than happy to help.
Counseling Specialties
Online Grief & Bereavement Counseling
I have a specific interest, training, and experience working with grief & bereavement. I have learned Complicated Grief Therapy (now known as prolonged grief disorder therapy). It is a 13-16 session, very structured approach to treating grief, from the Center for Complicated Grief at Columbia University’s Senior Trainer, Dr. Bonnie Gorscak. Additionally, my two most often used treatment approaches (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) are very helpful for approaching grief in general.
Online Anger Management
I also work well with clients who are coming in due to an unhealthy relationship with anger. I know it can sometimes be challenging to acknowledge that you need help with anger management, but my approach to counseling is nonjudgmental, genuine, gentle, and yet always straightforward.
Online Treatment for Anxiety, Depression & More
I also offer a variety of other supportive counseling services as well. Honestly, I enjoy working with clients with a wide range of mental health concerns. Furthermore, the evidence-based counseling techniques I use are effective with a wide range of mental health concerns. Almost anyone who is feeling “stuck” and wants to live more purposefully will benefit from the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) work that I do. I value providing effective counseling services and often treat anxiety, depression, trauma, and other emotional struggles.
In-Person Counseling Near Cincinnati, OH
As great as online therapy can be, I know some people just prefer in-person counseling. Or, even if you’re primarily attending counseling online you may want to drive over to my office for one or two in-person sessions. Sometimes, there’s just something about seeing someone face-to-face. If that’s you, I totally get it.
While my counseling office is technically located in Kentucky (Erlanger to be exact), it is truly just over the bridge from Ohio. In fact, it’s only about 15-20 minutes from Cincinnati, OH.
So, if it’s in-person counseling you’re looking for, even after reading about the benefits of online counseling, that is completely ok. I can also offer in-person mental health support just a short drive outside of Cincinnati.
